See! There is always a perfectly logical explanation that doesn't involved labeling Lea Michele a insensitive diva.
Not too long ago, we reported a story that while on the Paramount lot shooting Glee, Lea was approached by Hailee Steinfeld, the 14-year-old actress from True Grit. The story went that Lea rudely refused to sign an autograph for the young fan, sending her away in tears.
But sources have learned that one key point of the story was left out: Hailee never approached Lea directly. She was intercepted by a production assistant whose sole job on the set is to keep fans at bay while the actors are filming.
Still, Lea doesn't have a heart of stone and feels bad about letting Hailee down. She told sources:
"I heard Hailee was upset and feel terrible. The Glee schedule is so jam-packed that the PA probably pulled me so that I wouldn't be late to set. I never meant to hurt her feelings. She's an extraordinary talent and I look forward to meeting her one day."
Maybe sooner than you think! Aren't you both nominated for SAG awards? How's about you make a little time for her then, Lea? It'd be nice to talk to someone on the red carpet who wants to know more about you than just who you are wearing!
